Hello! For day twenty-three of the Diamine Inkvent 2023 we’re finally given a standard ink after a week of shimmers and scented.

Let’s see some swatches ~

Fireside Snug is a really pretty red ink. There’s a gorgeous amount of shading, and the colour can lead from a bright but soft orange, to the fiery red - what you would see while watching a crackling fire.

There’s a bit of a dark red/bronzey sheen in the large pools of ink, though nothing I would say is a selling point of the ink.

Writing Sample

Even on a medium nib, the shading is present. Actually, in the writing sample the ink seems to present a bit more orange to dark-orange. I certainly wasn’t expecting that, since the large swatches (and the glass dip writing) shows as red. But regardless, I like the ink! I may be using this one next year, since it’s safe for any of my pens.
