Diamine - Sweet Dreams | Inkvent 2023
Hello! For day seven of the Diamine Inkvent 2023, we have a Barbie pink, but scented ink.
Let’s check some swatches out.
Okay - since I’ve started my fountain pen journey, I’ve learned I definitely do not like scented inks. They feather nearly always, and often the scent burns my nose. Today’s ink isn’t my favourite, though the scent at least doesn’t hurt me. It has sort of a … candy, or bubble gum scent? I think, my sense of smell isn’t always the best, especially for artificial scents.
The ink is a real Malibu Barbie colour, with a little bit of shading. It feathers worst on Tomoe River, then Rhodia papers. It performs … okay on the Kokuyo business paper, and actually well on the Midori paper (to my surprise).
As you can see on the example below, the ink performed really well in the little Midori notebook. The only spot of feathering is the filled in cup along the edges, though my glass dip pen is normally pretty heavy on the ink.
