Monteverde - Joy

Today is a lovely, warm ink that I adore - no surprise there. It’s a brown ink with a ton of shading.

Let’s get into it.

The ink is Joy from Monteverde, from their Emotions collection. I chose it because I want more brown inks, especially to compete with Montblanc Toffee Brown - which I am obsessed with.

Joy is a warm, light brown - almost a caramel or sepia colour. It features delicious shading, that shows itself on all papers. I will caution that this ink had a bit of feathering, as you’ll see below.

Writing Sample

As you can see in the longer handwriting sample, I didn’t have any issues with feathering using this Conklin All American Raven Black with a broad nib. I was using the Tomoe River Sanzen paper.

Hi! Just a disclaimer that:

  • This ink (as well as the used Conklin pen) was generously gifted to me by Yafa Brands, who own Monteverde USA, Conklin Pens, and Private Reserve Ink, in exchange for posts about said products. However, the opinions I’ve shared are still my own, as like any other post I’ve made :)

  • If you’re interested in buying some inks, you can check out the folks at EndlessPens and use my code paperemm for 10% off your cart (with some exceptions :))
