Diamine - Blizzard | Inkvent 2023
Hello! For day eighteen of the Diamine Inkvent 2023 we’re given another shimmer for the third day in a row!
Let’s get bedazzled!
Today’s fountain pen ink, Blizzard, is another shimmer to the inkvent calendar. It’s a denim blue colour with lots of silver shimmer, and - hey, wait, didn’t we already see this colour?
Looking at this ink you might say “hey, wait, didn’t we already see this colour?” I admit, I had déjà vu and thought that the ink was Glacier from the week prior, and had just been mislabelled and put in again. But putting it side by side against Glacier, the swatches are pretty evident that Blizzard is a much darker blue.
In terms of writing, with the extra fine glass dip writing it doesn’t seem very different. However, in the larger samples using a <BB> nib, you can really see the difference in brightness for the colours. Blizzard does have these teeny weeny bits of red sheening in the deepest of pools, though it’s certainly not a selling point of the ink.
If I were to choose only one to have in my collection, I think I would lean a bit more towards Glacier, only because it’s a brighter colour and doesn’t really match anything in my current collection.
