Lennon Tool Bar - Sesame Oil

Lennon Tool Bar - Sesame Oil, swatched on a Col-O-Ring swatch card (design is a Yoseka Stationery stamp).

Ahh, another soft brown ink. This time it’s Sesame Oil from Lennon Tool Bar. The colour is a lighter brown, and is really accurate to how I see sesame oil ( though it’s been a while for me, I’m allergic ;_; ). This ink has quite the reputation for being elusive but highly sought after - there’s some hubbub when Atlas Stationers even brought the brand into their offerings. I think I do get the hype - at least, a bit. Immediately I thought of Sailor Suiseki (I’m still hunting for that one!) and Vanpen86, though it’s definitely paler and a bit more yellow-y/orange-y.

Writing Sample

I first inked up my Pilot Vanishing Point to write with, and the experience was quite nice. It wrote easy, I had no complaints. I also enjoyed seeing it dry, as it goes down a bit darker before drying to this colour.

I think I need to try the ink in a larger nib though, because I’d like to see what kind of shading is present. Once I do, I’ll put an updated photo here (and hopefully gush about the results).
