Montblanc - Toffee Brown
My very first Montblanc fountain pen ink has mozied it’s way into my collection, and I am stoked.
Let’s see those swatches!
I honestly never thought I’d have a Montblanc ink (I assumed the prices would be very similar to their pens). I managed to buy this locally in Vancouver from another pen person, and I was gobsmacked opening the packaging. This was a really luxe experience - I felt fancy, lol. The bottle design is certainly unique, and the cap alone is hefty. The bottle is also designed this way so you can more easily fill your pen up as the ink level lowers!
Alright, the colour - this is a rich, rich dark brown. The colour is very coffee bean, I think is the most accurate way to say it. I can see a bit of the shading in in the Kokuyo and the Rhodia papers - and I know the ink does have shading. The Midori and Tomoe River paper however, has instead focused on the sort of black sheening the ink has just because of the amount of ink on the swatch.
As of right now, I haven’t put the ink in any of my fountain pens for a longer writing sample, but this page will be updated when I have that available :)
Hi! Just a disclaimer that:

This ink was purchased with my own funds!

A cool tone, desaturated brown with lots of shading.
