Taccia - Ainezu
A cool toned, dark grey today.
(Taccia - Ainezu, swatched on a Col-O-Ring swatch card (design is a Yoseka Stationery stamp).
Ainezu comes from Taccia’s line of inks inspired by Ukiyo-e paintings (wood block paintings from earlier centuries), and by famous artist Katsushika Hokusai. While the term and artist may not immediately come to mind for you, this image will probably spark it - the The Great Wave off Kanagawa is a woodblock print made by Katsushika Hokusai!
This ink is a dark, dark grey ink. It leans on the cooler side, almost a dark navy undertone. There’s not much shading present - and while there’s some red sheening on the super large swatches on Midori and TR paper, it’s nowhere to be seen elsewhere.

Ainezu isn’t a ‘fun’ ink, necessarily. Without shading, sheening, or shimmer, it’s fairly standard. But I find the colour to be quite lovely, and it’s nice to have an ink that just works.
Hi! Just a disclaimer that:
This ink sample was first gifted to me thanks to the lovely Pensandcat on Instagram <3, and then I went and bought another sample LOL.

A medium grey ink, reliable as heck.
