Van Dieman’s - Lion’s Roar, swatched on a Col-O-Ring swatch card (design is a Yoseka Stationery stamp).

Lion’s Roar is the final ink for the Penablers Advent calendar for 2024, and it’s quite festive. I’m just happy it’s not green tbh, this one feels like Christmas to me (my tree was usually red and silver :)).

Lion’s Roar is a little bit of a thinner ink. It’s a lovely red—like a true R in RGB. It has golden shimmer in it, and it also has some gold-greenish sheen to it.

Writing Sample / Ink Review

The writing sample here is done with a Lamy Safari sporting a medium nib.

I didn’t have any issues writing with this ink, which is always a lovely surprise when using a shimmery ink. I also really enjoy how, despite the loudness of the ink, the shimmer is quite subtle. There was a ~whisper of shading, but really not enough to really talk about.
